Based in South Africa, Advanced Control Solutions (ACS) PTY Ltd is a systems integration company aimed at providing professional high-quality control systems automation solutions to a wide variety of industrial applications globally.
What we do
Project management from conception to completion. Consultation with various industries on optimum plant automation solutions for reduced operating costs and improved quality. Management of software design engineers, installation teams and 3rd party equipment vendors to ensure standards and best practices are maintained and milestones are achieved.
With our continued dedication to providing quality solutions and workmanship, our services have seen us emerge as a key player in the field of control and automation.
Over the past few years, our success in the global industrial environment has seen us having been awarded contracts across a variety of industrial disciplines. We are currently developing and commissioning a new Object-Oriented PLC and SCADA code for Anglo American’s Sishen Mine in the Northern Cape of South Africa. This new code standard includes advanced algorithms that simplify and optimize the automation process.
From a product point of view, our expertise lies mainly in the Siemens range of automation equipment including Siemens PCS7, Step 7, Step 5, TI505, APT and Teleperm M DCS systems. Our SCADA experience includes WinCC, Wonderware Archestra, Wonderware InTouch, Adroit, US Data Factory Link and Coros LSB to name a few.
Development and continued improvement of software libraries for standard engineering function templates and drive blocks. Development of in-house test software models for bench testing and customer FAT testing.
Systems Modelling
We realise the importance of modelling and simulation in the area of control systems design in order to “get it right the first time” and instill client confidence in the developed software even before the physical system is installed. In this regard, we have developed specialised tools and skills to implement computer-based models and simulation systems. We are proficient in the use of modelling tools such as Matlab and Simulink and use these applications throughout the control solutions development phase.
We have become skilled in designing and implementing custom database and reporting applications with most Microsoft core technologies. These systems have been effectively deployed to enhance customer performance and manage downtime thereby reducing operating costs. By staying up to date with new technologies and utilizing new emerging languages and mobile platforms we can provide reliable real-time data to the client anytime and anywhere.
Modelling of control systems and development of algorithms for complex control tasks using Matlab and Simulink. Compilation of Functional Design and Software Design Specifications. Problem solving and faultfinding on electrical systems by applying sound engineering first principals.
Training
Training of operational and maintenance personnel on newly installed control systems and process equipment. Development of tools and utilities for automated bulk PLC software and SCADA tag generation of object oriented and flat structured systems.
